When asking so called WordPress experts how to modify the footer credits of a theme, most will tell you to modify the code of your footer.php file. This is not recommended for two reasons: 1) If you make a mistake you will break your site and 2) Every time there is a theme update your changes will be overwritten and you will have to do it all over again. With the Remove WooCommerce StoreFront Footer Credit Plugin you can remove "Storefront designed by WooThemes" just by activating the plugin and add your own footer credit by adding some text to a box. Follow the instructions below to learn how. If you have any questions or comments, please post in the comment section or contact me here.

How to Use

  1. Click here to download the plugin.

Hi Joe,

Great plugin, so far I removed the footer credit or used the option in Storefront pro to put some custom text in it.

With your plugin we can put just about anything in there, awesome!

PS: I just stumpled upon your plugin a few days ago and could have sworn I could just install it in the WordPress dashboard? Now it is no longer available, only here?

Anyway, great job, thanks!

Will you update the plugin once it is installed, I wonder?
Normally if a plugin is available for download in the dashboard it gets update notifications?

Hi Annie!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you like the plugin.

I wonder if you might be thinking of my other plugin Remove Footer Credit. Sorry, this plugin is not available through WordPress. I may do that someday but I just have more control of it through my own website. Currently the only way to get updates is through my website but if you sign up to my newsletter you will get an email when there is a new update.

Let me know if you have any WordPress/website questions and I will do my best to help you out.

The plug-in works instantly, what a relief!! I have waisted a couple of days by following the suggestions by WP gurus creating child themes, adjusting function.php and what have you. All resulting in chrashes of the theme or html error 500 or no changes at all. Within 2 minutes after installing your plugin I am in control again. Kudos and big thank you!

Hi, It worked great for my website. Well, I have build my website by some freelancing developer. He did a great job for building my website. I don't know PHP or woocommerce or any e-commerce technology programming development, but I am well-versed with microsoft programing using VB and Other language. I am trying to learn now PHP and Woocommerce. So Joe, can you pls suggest me some good references for the same those I can use for my learning as a beginner.
Many Thanks in advance.

Hi dkjain01, the way I have always learned is just jumping in and doing. So what I would recommend is developing a feature that you need for your website with a WordPress Plugin since WooCommerce is built on top of WordPress and anytime you extend WooCommerce you do that with a WordPress plugin. Checkout this tutorial here on creating a WP plugin and this one in regards to WC.

Hi Bill, this is a great little plugin I generally use Joomla but this section of my site uses WordPress. I am not that savvy with WordPress and your plugin makes life easy. I have left the link back to you on my cart page.
Thanks Nige

I feel so grateful to have come across your plugin. Thank you so, so much. I am a complete novice and had wasted at least 3 hours trying to figure this issue out, going crazy over jargon-to-me like child theme, CSS, and PHP. My website even broke due to a failed intervention from another website's advice on how to change code. Anyway, I usually just lurk but I wanted to thank you for your work on this plugin. Thank you.
