Kaivo, glad I was able to save you! :)

What that will do is remove the anchor text but will leave the anchor (ie. a tag) so the link will still be rendered (you just won't see it). If I had to put money on it I would say you will be fine but some believe that you might be penalized by Google but there is no conclusive evidence on this.

Glad you like it Ash! Let me know if you have any questions.

You are welcome Ali!

Ali, if you don't update the theme, then the plugin will always work. If the theme developer changes something with the theme, then the plugin might not work and I will need to update it. If that does happen, let me know and I will do my best to fix it.

I agree. I think all themes should at least have an option to change the footer credit regardless of whether it's a free or premium theme. That's why I created the plugin. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi dkjain01, the way I have always learned is just jumping in and doing. So what I would recommend is developing a feature that you need for your website with a WordPress Plugin since WooCommerce is built on top of WordPress and anytime you extend WooCommerce you do that with a WordPress plugin. Checkout this tutorial here
on creating a WP plugin and this one
in regards to WC.

Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you like the plugin.
I wonder if you might be thinking of my other plugin Remove Footer Credit
. Sorry, this plugin is not available through WordPress. I may do that someday but I just have more control of it through my own website. Currently the only way to get updates is through my website but if you sign up to my newsletter you will get an email when there is a new update.
Let me know if you have any WordPress/website questions and I will do my best to help you out.

I’m not totally sure what you mean but I think you mean a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor. I added this in the newest version of the plugin so I recommend checking it out. Let me know if you have any other questions.

That should be possible. You just need to get the HTML of the image. What exactly are you trying to remove? Let me know and I can send you the HTML you need.

Thanks for letting me know. The URL should be https://youtu.be/d5jpAO5WRCk (I just updated it). I also fixed the issue you found with the theme. You can get the latest here: https://upwerd.com/downloads/upwerd.zip. Let me know if you’re having any other issues. By the way, I am working on some new videos that will show how to build a website with a new drag and drop page builder called Elementor. It’s a really great page builder which is easier than SiteOrigin Page Builder.
Sep. 17, 2016 12:00:00 am
Yes, feel free to use my theme and do whatever you like with it. If you want a premium WordPress theme, I recommend Themify(aff). They have a really nice drag and drop page builder that comes with the themes. They are licensed under GNU as you can see on their FAQ page so you can do just about anything with the theme. I am going to be creating a video on how to create a website using Themify soon. Use coupon code UPWERD to save 20%. Let me know if you have any other questions on licensing or anything related to WordPress/websites. I would love to help.

That is a great question that has been debated many times on the web.
I should start off by saying I am not a lawyer so what I’m about to say is not legal advice.
If the theme is downloaded from the WordPress Theme Directory than you are legally allowed to remove the credits because these themes must be licensed under GPL which allows you to modify code as you can see here.
Now if the theme is not from the WP Theme Directory than that is more of a grey area. According to this article written by the guy that created WordPress, it states that all WP themes are licensed under GPL (whether they like it or not) but only applies to the PHP code. So even with WP themes that are not in the Theme Directory you are likely allowed to remove the footer credit but as I said I am not a lawyer so this is not legal advice. I recommend speaking with a lawyer to get the absolute truth.
